How Do You Keep Your Hairpiece Attached?

Using a hairpiece when you are getting bald is a very natural thing to do. When speaking of a hairpiece this could mean a toupee, a wig or hair extensions and all of these could be made from synthetic material or human hair. Depending on how much you want to spend and what is most comfortable for you generally go into the decision making when it comes to choosing which type of hairpiece you want.

Attaching your hair piece can be done in a couple of ways.

Hair weaving is one way to attach your hairpiece.

You can do this by taking your own hair and sewing the extensions into it. You need to have this done by a professional hair stylist. By trying to do it yourself you risk damaging your existing hair. When weaving the hair extensions this has to be done correctly or you risk having the hairpiece be to loose or to tight on your head. Also when you have your hair weaved the process is short term and you need to go back to the salon and have it weaved again every so often.

Another method for attaching a hairpiece is bonding.

Bonding is done by using an adhesive to keep the hairpiece on your head.

This type of attachment worked best if the person has a small amount of hair left on his head and the top of their scalp is very visible. The nice thing about using adhesives is that you can remove the hairpiece anytime you wish. When using adhesives to attach your hairpiece you must remember a couple of things. Make sure you have a clean head and you’re not allergic to the adhesive.

When you use a salon they will likely offer to color, clean and attach your hairpiece. Salons and hair clubs usually have systems in place to make it as easy as possible for you to keep your hairpiece in great shape. Your hairpiece needs to be washed colored and reattached to your head so salons have a system in place to make this an easy journey for you.
